OBVERSE

The coin depicts radio waves arranged in five lines, symbolizing the start of broadcasts by "Radio Zagreb" on the medium wave frequency of 350 meters on May 15, 1926, at 8:30 p.m. This moment also marks the birth of Croatian Radio and Television (RTV), the legal successor to "Radio Zagreb." The coin also bears the following inscriptions: the year of issue "2026," the text "100 GODINA HRVATSKE RADIOTELEVIZIJE" (100 Years of Croatian Radio and Television), and the symbol of the Republic of Croatia "HR." These are all inscribed within the lines representing the radio waves, to which they are typographically attached. The combination of the depicted radio waves and the surface of the coin's core also symbolizes the distinctive emblem of Croatia, the Croatian checkerboard, one of the elements of the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia. The design on the national side of the commemorative coin also features the stylized initials of the author: "KG".
