OBVERSE

In 2024, handball is featured on coins. Handball has its origins in the late 19th century, in Scandinavia and Germany, where at that time, field handball also became a recognized sport. The two versions of the sport coexisted until 1966, before the indoor version was preferred over its field counterpart.

REVERSE

The common reverse for the series features a view of Paris where the Seine takes on the appearance of an athletics track. The Eiffel Tower dominates the city and illuminates the competition.
