OBVERSE

In summer, the Northern Hemisphere is most inclined towards the sun, thus receiving more light and heat during this season. The sun thus appears as a symbol of this season on the obverse of the coin. A map of the world centered on Switzerland is represented as a watermark in the heart of the radiant sun. At the bottom left is the typical summer constellation, the "Summer Triangle." Around the edge of the coin are the word "Estate" (summer in Italian), as well as "giugno, luglio, agosto," the Italian names for the months of June, July, and August.

REVERSE

The four seasons are represented on the face values of the "4 Seasons" series through a stylized plant cycle. The part representing summer is in relief and polished; the plant appears in full bloom.
