Austria Miniset - Official Issue - BU 2019
This Austria series in an annual presentation box includes the eight euro coin denominations for the year 2019, struck in BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) quality, celebrating the 825th anniversary of the founding of the Austrian Mint. Established with the ransom paid in 1194 for the release of King Richard 'The Lionheart' of England, who was held in Dürnstein Castle since 1192 by Duke Leopold V of Austria.
- Coins of 1, 2, and 5 cents - elements of flora including a gentian, an edelweiss, a traditional symbol of Austrian identity, and the alpine primrose, all from the floral series, which recalls Austria's ecological duty and its role in implementing a community environmental policy.
- 10, 20, and 50 Cent Coins - Saint Stephen's Cathedral, one of the jewels of Viennese Gothic architecture; the Belvedere, one of Austria's most beautiful Baroque palaces; and the Secession Building in Vienna, a symbol of the birth of Art Nouveau in Austria.
- 1 Euro Coin - effigy of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his signature, the celebrated Austrian composer, in tribute to the country's musical culture.
- 2 Euro Coin - effigy of pacifist Bertha von Suttner, Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 1905.
