Masterpieces from Museums 2025 - Opéra Garnier Ceiling - 50€ Silver Coin - Proof
OBVERSE
The obverse of these non-colorized coins features the fresco by Marc Chagall, created for the ceiling of the grand hall of the Opéra Garnier at the request of André Malraux and inaugurated in 1964. The central medallion on the coin is not usually visible to visitors of the Palais Garnier, as it is hidden by the grand chandelier that illuminates the hall.V
REVERSE
The reverse depicts the work by Jules-Eugène Lenepveu, created in 1872: The Muses and the Hours of Day and Night. The coin's face value and the name "République
Française" are featured in the center of the composition, in the style and location of the grille that once supported the grand chandelier.
