OBVERSE

On the obverse of this coin, we find an original composition by General Engraver Joaquin Jiménez. The two facing portraits represent a Spanish conquistador and Atahualpa, the last Inca emperor. In the center, a gilded Inca idol "EL DORADO", above the mythical lake where an Inca lord covered in Gold dust is said to have offered significant riches to the lake to appease the deity present in the water. This coin features selective fine gold gilding echoing the myth.

REVERSE

On the reverse, we find a modernized adaptation of la semeuse by engraver Louis-Oscar Roty, with a heraldic version of the French flag appearing on the drape of her robe. The mention "RF" is also encircled by an interlacing of hexagons reminiscent of France.
