OBVERSE

On the obverse of this coin, Phileas Fogg is in the foreground in his hot air balloon, accompanied by Jean Passepartout, his loyal French valet, and Mrs. Aouda, the young widow he rescued. Several elements place the work in its context, notably Big Ben, a symbol of the start and end point of this adventure. The watch, meanwhile, illustrates the pressing nature of this journey, highlighting that Phileas Fogg is engaged in a true race against time to win his bet. The author's name, the title Around the World in 80 Days, and the year of issue are found within the coin's border.

REVERSE

The reverse is common to the entire "Art de la Plume" series. It features several emblematic quotes such as "The best is the enemy of the good" by Voltaire, "Lasciate ogne speranza voi ch’intrate" by Dante Alighieri, "To be or not to be, that is the question" by William Shakespeare, and "What does not kill me makes me stronger" by Nietzsche. A feather is engraved in the center of the coin. Below it is the title of the series. The mention "RF" is present at the bottom of the coin, as well as the mint marks of Joaquin Jimenez and the engraving workshop.
