Formed in 1976 after Larry Mullen Jr. posted an ad titled "Drummer wanted - musicians wanted" on the notice board at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin, U2 has become one of the world's top live bands, undertaking numerous international tours. The band has released 15 studio albums, sold over 175 million albums, and won numerous awards, including 22 Grammy Awards and Amnesty International's "Ambassador of Conscience" award. The upper part features the name of the issuing country, "Eire," along with the inscription "U2/50th anniversary," and the lower part displays the year of issue, "2026."
