Hua Mulan is a heroine of a Chinese legend. According to "La Ballade de Mulan", written under the Song dynasty, Mulan's father was enlisted in the army due to the absence of an adult male descendant. In order to help his father, Hua Mulan disguised himself as a man and enlisted himself in the army instead. For 12 years, she took part in wars, rising a high rank of officer.
