⁣⁢On the obverse, a design commemorating the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Erasmus program, with a portrait of the theologian, humanist, and philosopher Erasmus of Rotterdam, based on a portrait by Hans Holbein (housed at the musée du Louvre, Paris); above the right hand, the initials J.J. of the engraver Joaquin Jimenez; in the lower right part, the year the program was created, 1987, the year of issue, 2022, the inscription ERASMUS PROGRAMME and the name of the issuing country SLOVENSKO (in English “SLOVAKIA”); on the ring, the twelve emblematic five-pointed European stars pointing upwards.⁤⁣
