REVERSE 

In front of the city of Paris, a podium beneath the steps of which are inscribed the three words of the national motto LIBERTY, EQUALITY, and FRATERNITY; in the upper part, the inscription RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE and the face value 1 EURO 1/2; in the lower part, the logo of the sporting event and the year 2003 between the French mint marks (on the left the cornucopia, on the right the heart, the monetary symbol chosen by the artist engraver Serge Levet)
