⁣⁢Elizabeth II, born in 1926 in London, became the longest-reigning sovereign in British history in 1952, after voluntarily enlisting in the armed forces during World War II. A major figure in contemporary history, she embodies lasting and respected female authority, exercised with discretion and a sense of
duty, while strengthening the United Kingdom's international influence.⁤⁣

OBVERSE

The obverse of this coin features a portrait from one of her last visits to France, along with her birth and death dates. In the background, her sovereign's monogram.

REVERSE

The reverse features the face value surrounded by two branches, one of oak and the other of laurel, evoking the euro symbol. The entire reverse design is framed by "French Republic" and an arrangement of lines representing the Hexagon. 

In the background are depicted the British emblems: the thistle for Scotland, the rose for England, the shamrock for Ireland, and the leek for Wales. The mint marks of the Monnaie de Paris and that of Joaquin Jimenez, Chief Engraver of the Monnaie de Paris, are also present, as is the year 2026.
