OBVERSE

The design features a solemn profile of President Jacques Chirac looking towards the future. He is surrounded by several symbols representing his actions: a euro symbol, signifying his involvement in the introduction of the euro and his European spirit, and a French flag rendered in heraldic colors, embellished with the initials RF, highlighting his presidency of the Republic. His name and dates are inscribed at the bottom of the design; the mint mark and year of issue are integrated into the design.
