⁣⁢The Principality of Monaco will issue in the coming weeks a commemorative coin of 2€ with the year 2022 commemorating the 100th anniversary of the death of Prince ALBERT I of Monaco. During the commemorations at the beginning of 2022, Prince Albert II recalled the importance of the internal work of his predecessor Prince Albert I in the construction of the Principality in the 20th century. He notably mentioned the creation of the hospital, the port, and the high school. Albert II also visited the municipal library, now named "Prince Albert I". There, he unveiled a large photographic portrait of his great-great-grandfather, who had also founded the communal library and reorganized the one in the Prince's Palace.⁤⁣

He also indicated that yesterday's questions often overlap with today's or tomorrow's challenges, calling on us to make Prince Albert I's legacy our own, constantly revitalizing it, based on the requirements of the rule of law and continuous adaptation to the changing world.
