Austria 2026 - gschneizt & kampelt - Set of 4 Euro Silver Coins of 10 Euros - Proof
This series celebrates traditional Austrian clothing and adornment culture (Trachtenkultur) through four key materials and themes:
- Leinen (Linen) – Aufdirndln (2025)
With its swirling skirt, printed apron, and refined details, the very essence of the dirndl has been immortalized. Artistic embossing brings this tribute to Austrian traditional costume culture to life – a masterpiece for lovers of tradition. The dirndl always signifies good cheer and, whether revisited classically or modernly, worn at a folk festival or in everyday life, it invariably catches every eye.
- Leder (Leather) – Aufbrezeln (2025)
- Loden (Loden) – Aufjuchazn (2026)
The obverse features a hunter dressed in a complete Loden costume, reproduced in colors printed directly onto the blank. The outfit includes a Janker, a characteristic embroidered jacket of Alpine attire, accompanied by a matching vest and a Tyrolean hat adorned with feathers and decorations. The figure holds a rifle. The composition is framed by baroque floral ornaments in relief, while an engraved deer head occupies the background. The contrast between the colorized areas and the sculpted relief elements structures the entire face.
The reverse is centered on a stag's head in high relief, flanked by developed antlers and an oak leaf motif. A rifle butt is visible to the left of the scene. The legends REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH · 10 EURO · 2026 are inscribed in an arc at the bottom. The Proof strike quality accentuates the contrast between the mirror-polished fields and the matte reliefs.
- Horn (Horn) – Anpirschen (2026)
The obverse depicts a woman in traditional costume on its face, with a loden shawl warming her shoulders. The ornamental ribbon in the background is rendered in the style of bodice embroidery; it also features a sheep, a symbol of the wool from which the fabric is made. On the value side, one can admire artistic embroidery and fine lacing: these are the ornaments that make traditional costumes unique.
On the reverse, one can admire artistic embroidery and fine lacing: these are the ornaments that make traditional costumes unique.
