OBVERSE

The design at the center of the coin symbolizes the position the euro has gained in ten years, now a fully-fledged global player, and its importance in daily life, with different aspects depicted: citizens (represented by a family of four), commerce (the ship), industry (the factory), and energy (the wind turbines). The design is the creation of Mr. Helmut Andexlinger, a professional graphic designer at the Austrian Mint.
