OBVERSE

The design features a rose in its center, a canting coat of arms of Rhodes, inspired by a coin struck in the ancient city of Rhodes – one of the most emblematic coins of the Dodecanese – surrounded by stylized waves. The inscriptions "1948-2018 ATTACHMENT OF THE DODECANESE TO GREECE" and "HELLENIC REPUBLIC" appear along the inner edge (in Greek). A palmette (the mint mark of the Greek Mint) can also be seen in the lower left part and the artist's monogram (George Stamatopoulos) in the lower right part.
