OBVERSE

The inner part of the coin depicts a Himelli. These are pyramidal mobiles, sometimes complex, made from straws (traditionally rye straw, but now found in brass or plastic straw) suspended from the ceiling. They are made during autumn and remain hanging indoors until spring, serving as Christmas ornaments. This is a cultural phenomenon inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. In the lower central part of the coin, the country name "Latvija" and the year of issue "2024" are shown.
