On the obverse, a depiction of the painting titled "The Virgin and Child" (in Italian "Madonna col Bambino"), painted by the artist Perugino (born 1446, died 1523), the name of the issuing country SAN MARINO, the year of the Italian painter's death, 1523, the year of issue, 2023, the mint mark R from the Rome Mint, and the initials MAC of the engraver Maria Angela Cassol; on the outer ring, the twelve emblematic European stars.

REVERSE

Map of the European Union on the right side of the obverse, extending onto the rim, between two series of six parallel vertical lines, each marked with a star; on the right, on the rim, the engraver's LL monogram signature of Luc Luycx. Legend: to the left of the map 2 and on the map itself EURO (the fourth letter on the rim).
