Fractional Set 2026 - Napoleon III - Proof
First unveiled as part of the numismatic trilogy "Golds of France," the Napoleon III franc makes a grand return at the heart of a luxurious and limited collection. A reinterpretation of the Napoleonic franc engraved by Jean-Jacques BARRE, these coins feature on their obverse a laureate portrait of Emperor Napoleon III. His profile was heavily inspired by that of his uncle Napoleon I, who himself built his image by drawing inspiration from the Roman emperor Julius Caesar. To the right of his profile, we find the Napoleonic coat of arms originally present on the reverse of imperial coins. Struck in Proof quality with tooling featuring a so-called "reverse" polish, which highlights Napoleon III's portrait. These three collector coins are presented in a lacquered wooden case in a "fractional" manner, from the smallest denomination to the largest. Produced in only 400 copies each, these pure gold collector coins are true works of art, directly stemming from the historical expertise of the Monnaie de Paris.
