⁣⁢Ninth coin in the series dedicated to colorful creatures. This series of 12 coins featuring animals will be issued at a rate of one coin per quarter between 2016 and 2019. Partially colored, these coins have the unique feature of being luminescent in the dark, just like certain nocturnal species, making the animals depicted on these twelve coins come alive at night with a light effect.⁤⁣

⁣⁢- The inner part of the coin depicts a frog on a reed stem with a swamp, the frog's natural habitat, in the background. In the lower part, the inscription "FROSCH" (frog) and the year of issue 2018.⁤⁣

⁣⁢The reverse is a common composition for this series, featuring representations of the 12 animals of this series: the bat, the tiger, the crocodile, the kingfisher, the wolf, the parrot, the shark, the owl, the frog, the turtle, the otter, and the crayfish. Between the animals are stylized representations of flora and the name of the issuing country “republik Osterreich” and the face value 3 euro.⁤⁣

⁣⁢Green Tree Frogs: Exclusively found in Europe and the Middle East, they are equipped with adhesive pads on their fingertips, enabling an arboreal lifestyle (in Europe, tree frogs are the only European amphibians with this climbing lifestyle).⁤⁣
