Historical Tribute to the "Gold Half-Heaume of Charles VI 1417"

Charles VI the Mad (1368 - 1422) became King of France at the age of 12. He truly took the reins of power at age 20, after several years of greedy and careless regency by his uncles. Unfortunately, from 1392 onwards, the sovereign suffered from bouts of madness, which considerably weakened his position and his kingdom, which England sought to conquer. Weighing 2.4 g with a fineness of 916‰, the Gold Half-Heaume of Charles VI was struck in this very troubled context, in 1417. It was issued almost exclusively by the La Rochelle mint, then under royal control, but only for a short period: the Dauphin regent took control of the city in 1418.

⁣⁢Gold-plated with 999‰ pure Gold, the representation of the "Gold Half-Heaume of Charles VI 1417" is featured in the center of this unique 999‰ pure Silver strike. Thanks to the talent of master engravers and the highest possible strike quality, known as " Proof " (BE), every detail of the original coin is perfectly rendered. This commemorative coin is strictly limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide. An unmissable offer for all French numismatists!⁤⁣

A very rare coin, the Gold Half-Heaume of Charles VI, named after the motif featured on its obverse, may have been struck by mistake instead of an order for a Gold Agnel, with which it shares its reverse. The Gold Half-Heaume is nevertheless a magnificent example of French numismatics, distinguished by the originality of the design engraved on its obverse: a knight's helmet.
