OBVERSE

The national face (obverse) of the commemorative coin dedicated to defense features the outline of Lithuania. The state borders are surrounded by a stylized spine, symbolizing the concept of global defense and the entire society. The image of the hedgehog also represents the openness and fragility of free societies, which must be defended to the maximum against external threats. Lithuania is presented as a hedgehog always ready to defend itself. The center of the obverse bears the inscription "LIETUVA" (LITHUANIA), the year of issue (2025), and the mint mark of the Mint of Lithuania. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European Union flag.
