The Bayon (Khmer: ប្រាសាទបាយ័ន, Prasat Bayon). Built at the end of the 12th or beginning of the 13th century as the official state temple of the Mahayana Buddhist king Jayavarman VII, the Bayon stands at the center of Jayavarman's capital, Angkor Thom.
