Obverse

The drawing represents a portrait of Pope Pius XI (Sovereign of the State in 1929) and Lateran in Rome. At the top, from left to right in a semicircle, is the inscription of the emitting country "Stato della città del Vaticano". In the lower part are the years "1929" and "2019" and, below, the name of the artist "Fusco".
The outside ring of the room represents the 12 stars of the European flag.
