

Giuseppe Mazzuoli's - Baptism of Christ - Malta 2018
On March 20, 2018, the central bank of Malta issued gold and silver pieces representing "the baptism of Christ", a statuary group of Giuseppe Mazzuoli (1644-1725). The pieces are issued as part of the Europa program on the theme "Baroque and Rococo" and bear the Europa Star logo.
The parts are struck to prove quality. They were designed and engraved by Noel Galea Bason and were struck with the Dutch royal currency. The setbacks represents the "baptism of Christ", a monumental white marble sculpture executed in Rome by Giuseppe Mazzuoli and installed in the apse of the Saint-Jean de la Valette co-cathedral in 1703.
The obverse of the play presents the coat of arms of Malta and the Europa Star logo. The pieces of this year will be part of a five -year series devoted to different periods of European art and history, which have been largely grouped like: 20th century modern (2016), the Iron and the Iron Age Glass (2017), Baroque and Rococo (2018), Renaissance (2019) and Gothic (2020).
