As an extension of our Majestic Eagle and Mystic Wolf pieces, we are proud to present the Argali magnificent! Argali (ram in Mongoli) is the largest kind of wild sheep that travels the highlands in western Asia, Himalayas, Tibet and Altai mountains. They can measure up to 135 cm (4 feet) high and up to 200 cm (7 feet) long. They are adapted to the cold weather, the aridity and the very high altitudes up to 5800 m. Adult argali eats 16 to 19 kg (35 to 42 lb) of food per day, mainly grass.

The main predators of Argali are the wolves and leopards of the Himalayas. These are long -length runners who escape predators mainly by fast flight. Argali is considered an almost threatened species, due to domestic livestock and hunting, because the attraction for picking up a trophy specimen is strong among sports hunters. They are chased for both their meat and their horns, used in traditional Chinese medicine. The males have two large corners in the shape of a corkscrew, some measuring 190 cm (6 ft 3 in) in total length and weighing up to 23 kg (51 lb). Males use their horns to compete with each other. The females also carry horns, but they are much smaller.
