At the top, the year of issue "2014" and to the left the mint mark (A, D, F, G, J). At the bottom, the inscription "NIEDERSACHSEN" and below it the country of issue indication "D". At the top right, the engraver's initials OE (Ott Erich). The outer ring of the coin represents the twelve stars of the European flag.
