OBVERSE

On the obverse, a design commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Greek mathematician Constantin Carathéodory, featuring a portrait of the latter on the left; in the lower part, the name of the issuing country EΛΛHNIKH ΔHMOKPATIA (in English "HELLENIC REPUBLIC"); the engraver's signature G. Stamatopoulos above the left shoulder; at 3 o'clock, the Greek flower called anthemion, the Athens mint mark; in the upper part, the inscription “ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥ ΚΑΡΑΘΕΟΔΩΡΗ 1873 1950”; on the ring, the twelve emblematic five-pointed European stars pointing upwards.
