Above are the inscription "G.M.G.", WYD, and in the upper left, the Roman numeral "XXVI", 26. In the center are the year "2011", the mint mark "R" from the Rome mint, and the engraver's name "O. Rossi". The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European flag.
