⁣⁢The drawing in the center of the piece symbolizes the position acquired in ten years by the euro, which is now a global player in its own right, and its importance in daily life, different aspects being described: citizens (represented by a family of four), commerce (the boat), industry (the factory) and energy (the wind turbines). The design is the creation of Mr. Helmut Andexlinger, professional graphic designer at the Austrian Mint. The outer ring of the coin represents the twelve stars of the european flag.⁤⁣
