⁣⁢The traditional motifs of wildebeest, kudu, and springbok that adorned South Africa's decimal currency for years had their final run in 2022. In 2023, six new motifs were created, marking the first year of the country's fourth decimal series. These new designs are exquisite and continue the tradition of paying tribute to South Africa's fabulous variety of flora, water birds, and antelopes. Issued in English and Afrikaans, the new coins are as follows:⁤⁣

    ⁣⁢The 5 rand coin, which depicted a wildebeest, now features a Southern Right Whale.
On the 2 rand coin, a springbok antelope replaces the kudu, an antelope nearly four times larger than the sleek springbok.
On the 1 Rand coin, the Protea Cynaroid flower replaces the Springbok.
The 50 euro cent coin depicts a grey lourie in flight. Also known as the "Grey Go-Away-Bird," it succeeds the former crane flower.
The 20 cent coin replaces the King Protea Cynaroid flower with an aloe-themed design.
The 10 cent coin now features a Cape honey bee, replacing the arum lily.⁤⁣

⁣⁢These legal tender coins mark the beginning of a new era and will be delivered in spectacular, satin, uncirculated condition. They range from 10 cents to 5 rands. Not to be missed. The worldwide mintage is limited to just 10,000 pieces, which is remarkably low compared to the mintages of similar series issued by the United States and other countries. Furthermore, each set comes in its original packaging.⁤⁣
