UNESCO - Place de la Concorde - 10 Euro Silver Coin - BU 2017
OBVERSE
The upper part of the coin depicts the Place de la Concorde with the Luxor Obelisk and the Fountain of the Rivers, then the Madeleine Church in the background. The fountain and the top of the obelisk are enhanced by a gold overlay. The lower part depicts the interior of the hemicycle: the plenary hall of the National Assembly. It also shows the facade of the Palais Bourbon and 9 of the 12 ancient Greek-style columns placed on the triangular pediment. In the center, the words "République Française" are legible when the coin is rotated 180°.
REVERSE
The reverse, common to the series, is divided in two. The UNESCO logo, the year, the face value, and the series name "Rives de Seine" are on the left, and an aerial view of the location of the two monuments appears on the right. The two parts are connected by the course of the Seine through Paris, and two dots indicate the location of the featured monuments.
