OBVERSE

Two faces: on the left, French President General De Gaulle, and on the right, German Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. Both their faces are turned towards the bilingual inscription in the center "50 ANS JAHRE 2013". Below the effigies, their respective signatures. Above their heads is inscribed in French "TRAITÉ DE L'ÉLYSÉE" and below is inscribed the same legend in German "ÉLYSÉE-VERTRAG". Next to this last mention is inscribed the letter "D" to indicate that the coin is German. The mint mark (A, D, F, G, or J) is placed below the Chancellor's effigy. The outer ring of the coin represents the twelve stars of the European flag.
