Masterpieces from Museums 2025 - Opéra Garnier Ceiling - 50€ Silver Coin - Proof
OBVERSE
On the face of these non-colorized coins, we find the fresco by Marc Chagall created for the main hall ceiling of the Opéra Garnier at the request of André Malraux and inaugurated in 1964. The central medallion on the coin is not usually visible to visitors of the Palais Garnier, as it is hidden by the grand chandelier that illuminates the hall.V
REVERSE
The reverse depicts the work of Jules-Eugène Lenepveu created in 1872: The Muses and the hours of day and night. The face value of the coin and the name "French
Republic" appear in the center of the composition, in the style and position of the grid that once supported the grand chandelier.
