The INTERCEPT® interior material allows the Box to protect your collectibles from oxidation and aging. Suitable for protecting coins, medals, and paper items (coin sets, postcards, letters, filing cards, documents, etc.) up to 180 x 160 mm. Outer dimensions: 331 x 160 x 185 mm.
The operating principle of the INTERCEPT® Box is based on INTERCEPT® technology, patented for over 30 years: the copper particles contained in the material permanently capture corrosive gases and create a neutral atmosphere, which protects coins from oxidation (protection guaranteed for up to 15 years*). The effectiveness of this technology meets the well-known DIN, EN, ISO, and ASTM standards. To extend the effectiveness of the Intercept Box beyond 15 years, it is advisable to close the Box immediately after each use and avoid opening it too often.
Box material: cardboard (2 mm thick)
*Under normal storage conditions, the action period far exceeds the advertised 15 years! It may happen, only under very unfavorable conditions (e.g., heavy air pollution or permanent opening of capsules / boxes), that the capacity of the Intercept material is exhausted before the 15-year mark. When the material's potential is depleted, a dark gray to greenish discoloration appears on the product's surface (not on the coins!). When this discoloration occurs, it's time to replace the product with a new one.
