CThis Austria series in an annual set includes the eight euro coin denominations with the 2009 minting year, struck in BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) quality.

- Coins of 1, 2, and 5 cents - elements of flora including a gentian, an edelweiss, a traditional symbol of Austrian identity, and the Alpine primrose, all from the floral series, which recalls Austria's ecological duty and its role in implementing a community environmental policy.
- Coins of 10, 20, and 50 cents - St. Stephen's Cathedral, one of the jewels of Viennese Gothic architecture; the Belvedere, one of the most beautiful Austrian palaces in Baroque style; and the Secession Palace in Vienna, a symbol of the birth of Art Nouveau in Austria.
- 1 euro coin - effigy of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his signature, famous Austrian composer, in tribute to the country's musical culture.
- Commemorative 2 euro coin - mint 2009 commemorating 10 years of economic and monetary union.

The inner part illustrates a stylized human silhouette whose left arm is extended by the euro symbol. It conveys the idea that the single currency and, by extension, the Economic and Monetary Union are the culmination of the long history of trade and economic integration in Europe.
