The inner part of the coin shows the architecture of the station depicted in all its originality. It is a reinforced concrete structure covered with a steel roof.
On the reverse, the TGV Sud-est and the TGV Duplex are depicted side-by-side. The one on the left corresponds to the first train on the line, the one on the right to the very last.
Lyon-Saint-Exupéry station was put into service in 1994. Its unique architecture, resembling a bird taking flight, was designed by Spaniard Santiago Calatrava.
