The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring - 10 Euro Silver Coin - Proof 2026
The engraving of this coin was carried out by the engraving workshop of the Monnaie de Paris based on illustrations from the graphic charter of the film The Fellowship of the Ring. Thus, this coin represents the beginning of our heroes' adventures.
OBVERSE
On the obverse, guided by Gandalf the Grey, the benevolent and protective leader of the Fellowship of the Ring, they will leave the peace of the Shire (which can be seen on the map of Middle-earth in the background). They will meet the elves, legendary creatures who will ally with them in the quest to destroy the One Ring, represented here by Arwen. Their journey will quickly take a dramatic turn at the story's turning point, before the mythical gates of Moria where Gandalf the Grey will disappear and the Fellowship will be scattered.
The bottom part features the inscription "Fellowship of the Ring" and the year.
REVERSE
The reverse of this coin depicts the One Ring, overlooking the Eye of Sauron and enhanced by a selective gold plating. Its inscription, written in Black Speech and transcribed in Tengwar, is revealed here by the flames of Mount Doom. Each reverse is engraved with the face value, the hallmarks of the Paris Mint, the mention RF (French Republic), as well as the year 2026 and the New Line Production copyright relating to The Lord of the Rings saga.
