⁣⁢Third coin in the series dedicated to colorful creatures. This series of 12 coins featuring animals will be issued at a rate of one coin per quarter during the years 2016 to 2019. Partially colored, these coins have the unique feature of being luminescent in the dark; like some nocturnal species, the animals depicted on these twelve coins become active at night, creating a light effect.⁤⁣

⁣⁢- The inner part of the coin depicts an open-mouthed crocodile on a sandbank in front of a mangrove, with fauna and two pink flamingos in the background. At the bottom, the inscription "Krokodil" (crocodile) and the year 2017.⁤⁣

⁣⁢The reverse is a common composition for this series, featuring representations of the 12 animals in this series: the bat, the tiger, the crocodile, the kingfisher, the wolf, the parrot, the shark, the owl, the frog, the turtle, the otter, and the crayfish. Between the animals are stylized representations of flora and the name of the issuing country "republik Osterreich" and the face value 3 euro.⁤⁣
