OBVERSE

On the obverse of this coin, a prehistoric monster is in the foreground. In the background, Professor Otto Lidenbrock intently observes the horizon. In the center, the raft sailing on the "Lindenbrock Sea" is about to collide with two marine creatures in mid-duel. The characters of this fiction, evolving in a mineral universe, are depicted on the right. On the left, a reference to the runic characters that guided the adventurers to the entrance of the Sneffels volcano is inscribed on a giant mushroom. In the background stands the Italian volcano Stromboli, through which the explorers emerge from the center of the Earth. The title of the work is in the center of the coin, and the year and author's name are at the bottom.

REVERSE

The reverse is common to the entire "Art of the Pen" series. It features several emblematic quotes such as "The best is the enemy of the good" by Voltaire, "Lasciate ogne speranza voi ch’intrate" by Dante Alighieri, "To be or not to be, that is the question" by William Shakespeare, and "What does not kill me makes me stronger" by Nietzsche. A feather is engraved in the center of the coin. Below it is the title of the series. The mention "RF" is present at the bottom of the coin, as are the mint marks of Joaquin Jimenez and the engraving workshop.
