At the heart of the design is Buddha Vairocana, the supreme expression of universal wisdom, dominated by the site's iconic niches and sculptures. Two Buddhist protectors frame the composition: Vajrapāṇi on the left, armed with the vajra against evil forces, and Vaiśravaṇa on the right in armor, carrying a pagoda symbolizing prosperity and vigilance. A blooming peony completes the iconography, evoking nobility and spiritual transcendence. ⁤⁣

REVERSE 

The reverse features a globe with parallels and meridians, with the UNESCO logo and the mention "World Heritage" on the left. The face value is harmoniously integrated into the geographical grid. On the right, inscriptions of major World Heritage sites are engraved as if in stone, evoking the iconography of the Rosetta Stone. This common design for the entire UNESCO 2026 series highlights the universal importance of these protected cultural and natural treasures.
