Art of the Pen 2026 - Agatha Christie - 50 Euro Gold Coin ¼ Oz - BU
OBVERSE
The obverse of this coin features Agatha Christie in deep thought, chin resting on her hand, holding a fountain pen between her outstretched fingers, evoking a revolver. Around her are references to her iconic works: Ten Little Indians (house on an island, ten silhouettes, gramophone), The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (English manor, pocket watch, dagger), Murder on the Orient Express (train), and Death on the Nile (cruise ship, pyramids). The author's name, her dates, and the year complete the composition.
REVERSE
The reverse is common to the entire "Art of the Pen" series. It features several iconic quotes such as "The best is the enemy of the good" by Voltaire, "Lasciate ogne speranza voi ch’intrate" by Dante Alighieri, "To be or not to be, that is the question" by William Shakespeare, and "What does not kill me makes me stronger" by Nietzsche. A feather is engraved in the center of the coin. Below it is the title of the series. The mention "RF" is present at the bottom of the coin, as well as the mint marks of Joaquin Jimenez and the engraving workshop.
