This is the 5th edition of our successful "Spiritual Art" series dedicated to the famous Zeus. Zeus is the god of the sky and thunder in ancient Greek religion. He was revered as a grandfather, chief of the gods, who reigns from Mount Olympus. His name is related to his Roman equivalent Jupiter. He was considered the initiator of thunder and lightning, rain and winds, and his traditional weapon was the lightning bolt. This stunning coin is inspired by the Statue of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was a seated colossal figure about 12.4 m high, created by the Greek sculptor Phidias around 435 BC at the sanctuary of Olympia, Greece, and erected in the Temple of Zeus. Zeus sat on a cedarwood throne painted, adorned with ebony, ivory, gold, and precious stones.

The statue was lost and destroyed during the 5th century AD. Details of its form are known only through ancient Greek descriptions and coin depictions. Thanks to the enhanced smartminting® technique, you can now find Zeus on a specially shaped 3 oz silver coin, fully gilded and in ultra-high relief. It is individually numbered and limited to only 501 pieces worldwide.
