OBVERSE
On the obverse, a depiction of the Lusitanian seaplane aboard which Commander and pilot Sacadura Cabral and navigator Gago Coutinho made the first South Atlantic crossing, connecting Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro; on the left, the inscription "TRAVESSIA DO ATLÂNTICO SUL"; below the plane, the name of the issuing country PORTUGAL, the year of the event commemorated, 1922, and the year of issue, 2022; on the right, the signature of the artist engraver José João de Brito and the inscription CASA DA MOEDA; on the crown, the twelve emblematic European five-pointed stars pointing upwards.
