OBVERSE

The inner part of the coin depicts a seven-pointed star with the inscription in Greek: "150 years since the union of the Ionian Islands (EPTANISA) with Greece 1864-2014", the name of the issuing country "Hellenic Republic" with the Greek Mint's mint mark below. Between each star point are symbols of the Ionian Islands, with a decorative frieze of stylized waves around the edge.
