Issued by Italy in 2026, this 2-euro commemorative coin celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of Carlo Collodi, the author of Pinocchio.

OBVERSE

The central motif illustrates Pinocchio in mid-dance. The shadow of the famous puppet watches with surprise as the talking cricket perches on a lengthening nose. The inscription "CARLO COLLODI" appears at the top of the coin, accompanied by the commemoration date and the years "1826" and "2026". The mint mark "R" from the Rome Mint is visible on the left side, while the issuing country identification "RI" is on the right. The name "PINOCCHIO" is inscribed at the bottom, and the initials "MB" of the designer, Marta Bonifacio, are positioned at the bottom right.
