OBVERSE
The obverse depicts a perspective view from below showing a detail of the facade of the Basilica of Santa Croce, an emblem of Baroque art in Lecce, as well as its rose window. At the top, under an arch, is the inscription "REPUBBLICA ITALIANA". At the bottom, "2026", the year of the coin's issue.
REVERSE
In the foreground, at the bottom, the Roman amphitheater of Lecce, completed by an ellipse showing, at the top, the coin's value "5 euros". To the right, the column of Sant'Oronzo with part of a sundial, a function fulfilled by the statue of the saint at the top of the column. In an arc at the top left, "LECCE". At the bottom, "R", identifying the Rome Mint, and the designer's signature, "M. Ciucci".
