OBVERSE

The inner part of the coin depicts a Himelli. These are pyramidal mobiles, sometimes complex, made from straws (traditionally rye straw, but now also found in brass or plastic straw) suspended from the ceiling. They are made during the autumn and remain hanging indoors until spring, as Christmas ornaments. It is a cultural phenomenon inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list. In the central bottom part of the coin, the country's name "Latvija" and the year of issue "2024".
