⁣⁢The design was created by a schoolchild and features a series of motifs specific to Maltese heritage, including: a reference to prehistoric temples, which are the oldest freestanding structures in the world, the dome and bell tower of a church, which are characteristic elements of Maltese towns and villages, and a representation of a traditional boat flying the Maltese flag. At the top of the inner ring of the coin is the name of the issuing country "Malta" and at the bottom the year of issue "2018".⁤⁣
